Derita Third Place

Description:

This project focuses on a disconnected part of Derita, which has become more underserved over time.

It expresses the impact of busy arterial roads on pedestrian safety and community access. Joseph highlighted how his neighborhood has been effectively cut off from the rest of Derita, including recreational spaces, making the need for a “Third Place” even more essential.

Joseph hopes to bring attention to this part of his neighborhood and to host community members there. His plan includes sharing information, raising awareness, and petitioning for the establishment of a safe, usable third place.
